बालकाण्ड सर्ग ३६
गङ्गा-प्रभवप्रश्नः, शिवतेजोधारणं, कार्त्तिकेय-जन्म, उमाशापः
स गत्वा तप आतिष्ठत्पार्श्वे तस्योत्तरे गिरौ।हिमवत्प्रभवे शृङ्गे सह देव्या महेश्वर:।।।।
sa gatvā tapa ātiṣṭhat pārśve tasyottare girau |
himavat-prabhave śṛṅge saha devyā maheśvaraḥ ||
महेश्वर वहाँ गए। देवी के साथ मिलके तपस्या करने लगे। यह वो पहाड़ है जो हिमालय से निकला है। उसकी उत्तर तरफ एक चोटी पर बैठे।
"Mahesvara along with goddess Uma, went north of the Himavat mountain and performed penance on a peak.
