राम ने कहा, आप हज़ार साल तक इस दुनिया के राजा रहिये। मैं जंगल में रहूँगा। आप मेरे लिए झूठ मत बोलिये।
You will remain the lord of this earth for a thousand years to come, O king! As for me, I will dwell in the forest. Do not deviate from truth on my account.
Satya is paramount: Rāma insists that truth must not be violated even for him; personal welfare cannot justify falsehood.
Rāma rejects Daśaratha’s attempt to reverse the exile arrangement by making him king immediately, and instead urges him to remain truthful.
Rāma’s integrity and renunciation—he chooses hardship over enabling his father to break truth.
