Sukta 3
तद॑ग्ने॒ चक्षुः॒ प्रति॑ धेहि रे॒भे श॑फा॒रुजो॒ येन॒ पश्य॑सि यातु॒धाना॑न्। अ॒थ॒र्व॒वज्ज्योति॑षा॒ दैव्ये॑न स॒त्यं धूर्व॑न्तम॒चितं॒ न्योऽष
tád agne cákṣuḥ práti dhehi rebhé śaphā́rujo yéna páśyasi yātudhā́nān | atharvávaj jyótiṣā daívyena satyáṃ dhū́rvantam acitáṃ ny òṣa ||
Set thou, O Agni, that eye upon thee, O Singer—hoof-shattering—wherewith thou seest the Yātudhānas. With Atharvan-like, heavenly light, burn down the unseen assailant, the true [foe] that works harm.
अग्नि से कह रहे हैं कि वो आँख इस्तेमाल कर जो बुरी आत्माओं को देख सकती है। यह आँख इतनी ताकत वाली है कि दुश्मन की हड्डी तक तोड़ सकती है। अथर्वन रिशियों जैसी चमक से वो छुपा हुआ दुश्मन को जला दे। जो सच में नुकसान कर रहा है, उसे मा दे।
