tásmā ūrdhvā́yā diśó antardeśā́n mahādevám iṣvā́sám anuṣṭhātā́ram akurvan

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

Therefore, from the mid-region of the Upward Quarter, they appointed Mahādeva the Archer to be the Attendant-Guardian.

इसलिए ऊपर वाली दिशा के बीच से उन्होंने महादेव को नियुक्त किया। वो धनुष लेकर रक्षा करता है।
