ह्रस्वप्रवासिनां शूद्रवैश्यक्षत्रियब्राह्मणानां भार्याः संवत्सरोत्तरं कालमाकाङ्क्षेरनप्रजाताः संवत्सराधिकं प्रजाताः ॥ कZ_०३.४.२४ ॥
hrasvapravāsināṃ śūdra-vaiśya-kṣatriya-brāhmaṇānāṃ bhāryāḥ saṃvatsarottaraṃ kālam ākāṅkṣeran aprajātāḥ saṃvatsarādhikaṃ prajātāḥ
जब पति थोड़े दिन के लिए घर से बाहर जाता है, तो पत्नी का इंतज़ार करना पड़ता है। शूद्र, वैश्य, क्षत्रिय और ब्राह्मण - इन सब की पत्नियाँ एक साल तक वेट करती हैं। अगर बच्चा नहीं हुआ, तो एक साल तक रुको। अगर बच्चे हो चुके हैं, तो एक साल से ज़्यादा तक।
