Sukta 9.104

Devata

Soma Pavamāna

Yeh mantra Soma ke liye hai jo khud saaf ho raha hai. Sab log baith ke gaana gate hain aur Soma ko sajate hain.

Doston, yahan baitho aur gaao uske liye jo khud ko saaf kar raha hai. Yagya ke kaam se use sajao, jaise bacche ko sajate hain. Taaki uski chamak badhe.

Mantra 2

Use milkao saath mein, jaise baccha apni maa ke paas jaata hai. Yeh khushi zindagi ka kaam karti hai. Bhagwan ki yeh madhushala badi taakat wali hai.

Mantra 3

Woh saaf kare taaki kaam mein dum aaye. Taaki sab milke khana kha sakein. Mitra aur Varun ke liye woh shanti aur khushi laye.

Mantra 4

Hamari awaazein tumhe pukarti hain, jo sab kuch dene wala hai.

Hey Indu, tum hamare liye khushi ka malik ho.

Hamare liye suraksha ki boundary bana do. Jo bhi buri taakat hamare paas aati hai, usey bhaga do. Jo log bhagwan ko nahi maante aur do tarah ki baat karte hain, unki buraai ko hamare raaste se hata do. Hamari taraf se ladke usey door kar do.

Frequently Asked Questions

It accompanies the purification of Soma: the singers praise the flowing, self-purifying Soma, ask for prosperity and radiance, and end with a prayer for protection from hostile forces.

Because Soma is treated as a precious presence during the rite—carefully tended and ‘adorned’ by correct sacrificial actions, so his splendour and blessings can grow.

The hymn asks Soma to set a secure boundary and to drive away devouring Rakṣasas and ‘double-faced’ godless harm—anything deceptive or destructive that could obstruct the sacrificers.
