Yeh mantra bukhar ko ek shakti maan ke usse shant karne ke liye hai. Isme sard-bukhar aur aata-jata bukhar ka zikr hai. Pehle bukhar ko namaskar karke usse shant kiya jaata hai. Phir usey yahan se jaane ko kaha jaata hai. Mantra mein bukhar ko mendak ke paas bheja jaata hai. Aise bukhar patient se door ho jaata hai. Yeh dono kaam ek saath hota hai, shant karna aur bhagana.
Mantra 1
Yeh mantra bukhar ko bhagane ke liye hai.
Jo bukhar bhi aata hai, aaj ya kal, usko is mendak par bhej do. Yeh bukhar kisi ka nahi hai, apne aap ko bhagao aur is mendak ke paas chale jao.
It is a healing (bhaiṣajya) hymn meant to pacify and remove fever, especially cold-fever (śīta-jvara) and fevers that recur on set days.
The frog functions as a substitute recipient in a transference rite: the mantra instructs the recurring fever to leave the patient and ‘go upon’ the frog instead, symbolically carrying the illness away.
Both: it begins with respectful homage to fever’s named forms (appeasement) and then turns to a direct directive that the fever depart and relocate, expressing Atharvanic healing authority.
