Yeh mantra Indra ji ke liye hai, jo ki Rgveda se liya gaya hai. Isme Indra ji ki taarif ki gayi hai ki woh som pe karke jeet te hain. Yeh raksha ke liye bola jata hai, dushmano ke hamle ko rokne ke liye. Indra ji se prarthana hai ki woh dhokha aur jani dushmani ko door bhaga de. Yeh mantra insaan ko surakshit rakhta hai aur buri nazar se bachata hai. Indra ki shakti se aadmi par koi bala nahi aati.
Mantra 1
स घा॑ नो॒ योग॒ आ भु॑व॒त् स रा॒ये स पुरं॑ध्याम्। गम॒द् वाजे॑भि॒रा स नः॑
Jab gaadi jaldi mein lagti hai, woh hamare saath ho. Dhan mile, khushi mile. Woh taakat ke saath hamare paas aaye.
Mantra 2
यस्य॑ सं॒स्थे न वृ॒ण्वते॒ हरी॑ स॒मत्सु॒ शत्र॑वः । तस्मा॒ इन्द्रा॑य गायत
Jis Indra ke do ghode ladai mein harate nahi, dushman bhi usko jeet nahi paate. Us Indra ke liye gaana gao.
Mantra 3
सु॒त॒पाव्ने॑ सु॒ता इ॒मे शुच॑यो यन्ति वी॒तये॑ । सोमा॑सो॒ दध्या॑शिरः
Hey Soma ka saaf karne wale, yeh nichaad hue Soma ras tere liye ja rahe hain. Yeh chamak rahe hain aur saaf hai. Doodh mila ke banaye gaye hain, tere liye ready hain.
Mantra 4
त्वं सु॒तस्य॑ पी॒तये॑ स॒द्यो वृ॒द्धो अ॑जायथाः । इन्द्र॒ ज्यैष्ठ्या॑य सुक्रतो
Indra, tune piye ke liye turant bada ho gaya. Paidaise hi bada ban gaya. Tu intelligent hai aur sabse upar aane ke liye bana hai.
Mantra 5
आ त्वा॑ विशन्त्वा॒शवः॒ सोमा॑स इन्द्र गिर्वणः । शं ते॑ सन्तु॒ प्रचे॑तसे
Hey tez Soma ras, Indra ke paas jao. Indra ko gaana aur bhajan pasand hai. Tum uske liye accha karo, uski bhalaai karo.
Mantra 6
त्वां स्तोमा॑ अवीवृध॒न् त्वामु॒क्था श॑तक्रतो । त्वां व॑र्धन्तु नो॒ गिरः॑
Hey sau power wale Indra, logon ki tareef ne tujhe strong banaya hai. Bhajan aur gaane ne tujhe bada kiya. Ab hamare gaane bhi tujhe aur bada karein.
Mantra 7
अक्षि॑तोतिः सनेदि॒मं वाज॒मिन्द्रः॑ सह॒स्रिण॑म्। यस्मि॒न् विश्वा॑नि॒ पौंस्या॑
Indra ki madad kabhi khatam nahi hoti. Woh humare liye taakat laaye, hazaar guna. Usme sab tarah ki taakat hai.
Mantra 8
मा नो॒ मर्ता॑ अ॒भि द्रु॑हन् त॒नूना॑मिन्द्र गिर्वणः । ईशा॑नो यवया व॒धम्
Indra, tu gaana ka malik hai. In insaanon ko mat dekhne de ki woh dhokhe se humare shareer pe vaar karein. Tu raja hai, maaro ko humse door bhaga de.
Mantra 9
यु॒ञ्जन्ति॑ ब्र॒ध्नम॑रु॒षं चर॑न्तं॒ परि॑ त॒स्थुषः॑ । रोच॑न्ते रोच॒ना दि॒वि
Woh lal ghode ko jodte hain jo daudta hai. Uske aas-paas nazar rakhne wale khade hain. Aasmaan mein roshni chamakne lagti hai.
Mantra 10
यु॒ञ्जन्त्य॑स्य॒ काम्या॒ हरी॒ विप॑क्षसा॒ रथे॑ । शोणा॑ धृ॒ष्णू नृ॒वाह॑सा
Uske liye do ghode jodte hain jo man maange kaam karein. Unhe rath mein jodte hain. Yeh lal rang ke hain, himmat wale, aur insaan ko le jaate hain.
Mantra 11
के॒तुं कृ॒ण्वन्न॑के॒तवे॒ पेशो॑ मर्या अपे॒शसे॑ । समु॒षद्भि॑रजायथाः
Tu woh banda hai jiske paas koi nishani nahi thi, uske liye nishani bana deta hai. Jiska koi shringaar nahi, usko sundar bana deta hai. Hey veer, tu subah ki roshni ke saath paida hua tha.
Mantra 12
आदह॑ स्व॒धामनु॒ पुन॑र्गर्भ॒त्वमे॑रि॒रे। दधा॑ना॒ नाम॑ य॒ज्ञिय॑म्
Yeh mantra aag ke baare mein hai jo apni taakat se jal uthi hai. Woh aag vidhi ke hisaab se kaam karti hai. Usne phir se garbh dhaaran ka kaam shuru kiya hai. Yeh sab yajna ke naam par ho raha hai.
It is used for protection and counter-hostility—asking Indra to prevent treacherous harm to one’s body and to drive away deadly attacks, while also supporting victory in contests.
No specific substances are required in the text; it works primarily through praise (stotra). In a soma-oriented setting, it can be aligned with Indra’s soma empowerment, but that is optional.
Mantra 20.69.8 is the clearest protective petition: it asks that mortals not attack the body with treachery and that Indra, as sovereign, drive away the lethal blow.
