Rishi: Atharvanic tradition (specific r̥ṣi attribution varies by anukramaṇī for this minor nuptial charm)
Devata: Agni (primary), Bhaga (auxiliary as fortune-distributor)
Chandas: Mixed/irregular (Atharvavedic domestic charm style; broadly triṣṭubh-jagatī tendency rather than strict anuṣṭubh)
Yeh mantra kisi ladki ke liye achha pati dhundne ke liye hai. Rishta jam ke baith jaye, log bhi man se sweekar karein.
Mantra 1
Agni, tum hamare liye acchi soch aur khana-pina laao. Is ladki ke liye Bhaga ke saath sukh lao. Dulhe ke chunav mein woh pasand aaye, sabke beech acchi lage. Uska pati mil jaye, bhagya accha ho, aur gussa thanda ho.
Mantra 2
Main aisa vardaan maangti hoon jo Som aur Brahma dono ko manzoor ho.
Agni devta, is aurat ko pati milne do. Som raja uska bhagya accha karte hain. Woh bete paida karegi aur ghar ki main aurat banegi. Pati ke paas jakar woh khush rahe aur chamke.
Mantra 4
Jaise gadha jaanwaron ko pyaara lagta hai, waise hi yeh aurat apne pati ko pyaari lage.
Bhagwan ki kashti pe sawar ho jao. Woh kashti poori bhari hai, kahin bhi phislegi nahi. Uske saath tumhe us taraf le jao jahan tumhari ichcha poori ho.
Mantra 6
Dhan ke malik, tum awaaz ubharo. Jo vardaan maanga hai, usse mann mein bitha do. Sab kuch sahi taraf ho, jo chahiye woh mile, mann ki ichcha poori ho.
Mantra 7
Yeh sone ka daan hai, guggul bhi hai. Bhagwan ne tumhe pati ke liye diya hai. Savita devta tumhare pati ko tumhare paas laye. Yeh jadi buti tumhe pati dilaye.
It is used as a domestic charm to help a maiden obtain a suitable husband, gain acceptance among suitors and families, and secure prosperity and harmony in married life.
Agni acts as the household mediator who carries the prayer into effect, while Bhaga grants the ‘portion’ of good fortune—marital allotment, enjoyment, and social approval—needed for a successful match.
Gold (hiraṇya) functions as an auspicious saubhāgya-token, and guggulu as a fragrant attractive medium; together they ‘materialize’ the prayer, especially in the closing verse where Savitar leads the desired husband and the Herb is commanded to bestow him.
