sarvapāpapraśamanaṃ dṛṣṭaṃ sarvasukhāvaham | snātvā cāsya tvamāvāsyāṃ piṃḍadānaṃ dadāti yaḥ
यह तीर्थ सर्व पापों का शमन करने वाला और समस्त सुख देने वाला माना गया है। जो यहाँ स्नान करके अमावस्या के दिन पिण्डदान करता है, वह महान् पुण्य का भागी होता है।
