śrāntā bhāraparikliṣṭā vahatī kopanaṃ dvijam | pāyayitvodakaṃ kānta naya māṃ mandiraṃ svakam
Rukmiṇī
Tirtha: Dvārakā
Type: kshetra
Scene: Rukmiṇī, strained from bearing the burden of an irritable brāhmaṇa, appeals to Kṛṣṇa: first give the brāhmaṇa water, then take her home; the scene balances duty and tenderness.
Hospitality is dharma even when the guest is difficult; service purifies and protects.
Dvārakā, as the sacred setting where ideals of atithi-dharma are enacted by divine figures.
Offering drinking water to a brāhmaṇa/guest (atithi) is explicitly advised.
