अथोवाच महादेवः सर्वांस्तांस्त्रिदशालयान् । वृणुध्वं सुवरं सर्वे मत्तो यन्मनसीप्सितम्
athovāca mahādevaḥ sarvāṃstāṃstridaśālayān | vṛṇudhvaṃ suvaraṃ sarve matto yanmanasīpsitam
तब महादेव ने उन समस्त त्रिदश-निवासियों से कहा— ‘तुम सब मुझसे उत्तम वर चुन लो; जो-जो तुम्हारे मन को प्रिय हो।’
