कृष्ण उवाच । एकरात्रिं भविष्यंति येऽत्र श्रद्धासमन्विताः । उपवासपरास्तेषां पापं यास्यति संक्षयम्
kṛṣṇa uvāca | ekarātriṃ bhaviṣyaṃti ye'tra śraddhāsamanvitāḥ | upavāsaparāsteṣāṃ pāpaṃ yāsyati saṃkṣayam
कृष्ण ने कहा: जो यहाँ श्रद्धायुक्त होकर एक रात ठहरते हैं और उपवास में तत्पर रहते हैं, उनका पाप नष्ट हो जाता है।
Kṛṣṇa
Tirtha: Prabhāsa-kṣetra (Arbuda-khaṇḍa locus)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Devī and/or assembled hearers within the māhātmya frame
Scene: Night at the pilgrimage town: devotees keep vigil or sleep on the ground near a shrine after fasting; lamps flicker, the sea/river murmurs; Kṛṣṇa is depicted as the teacher proclaiming the vow’s fruit.
Even a brief pilgrimage—when joined with faith and self-restraint—has the power to purify accumulated sin.
The ‘here’ indicates the Arbuda-kṣetra sacred locale being described in Adhyāya 36.
A one-night observance at the site, undertaken with śraddhā and upavāsa (fasting).
