तासां मध्ये च रोहिण्या सह रेमे स नित्यदा । त्यक्ताः सर्वाश्च चंद्रेण दक्षकन्याः सुदुःखिताः । गत्वा स्वपितरं नत्वा प्राहुरस्राविलेक्षणाः
tāsāṃ madhye ca rohiṇyā saha reme sa nityadā | tyaktāḥ sarvāśca caṃdreṇa dakṣakanyāḥ suduḥkhitāḥ | gatvā svapitaraṃ natvā prāhurasrāvilekṣaṇāḥ
उनमें वह सदा रोहिणी के साथ ही रमण करता रहा; इसलिए चन्द्र द्वारा त्यागी गईं दक्ष की अन्य सभी कन्याएँ अत्यन्त दुःखी होकर अपने पिता के पास गईं। उसे प्रणाम कर, आँसुओं से भरी आँखों से बोलीं।
