भीष्म उवाच । गंगायामस्थिपातोऽत्र येषां संजायते नृणाम् । न तेषां नारको वह्निः प्रभवेन्मध्यवर्तिनाम्
bhīṣma uvāca | gaṃgāyāmasthipāto'tra yeṣāṃ saṃjāyate nṛṇām | na teṣāṃ nārako vahniḥ prabhavenmadhyavartinām
भीष्म बोले—यहाँ गंगा में जिन मनुष्यों की अस्थियाँ प्रवाहित की जाती हैं, उन पर नरक की अग्नि का प्रभाव नहीं पड़ता—चाहे वे मध्य-लोक के दुःख के अधिकारी ही क्यों न हों।
