नारद उवाच । वज्रवद्दुःसहां वाचं मार्कंडेयसमीरिताम् । शुश्रुवान्स क्षणं ध्यात्वा प्रतीतः प्राह तावुभौ

नारद बोले—मार्कण्डेय के कहे हुए वज्र-तुल्य असह्य वचन सुनकर उसने क्षण भर विचार किया; फिर संतुष्ट होकर उन दोनों से कहा।
