अंगानां वर्धनादंबा वीरसूत्वे च वीरसूः । शिशोः शुश्रूषणाच्छ्वश्रूर्माता स्यान्माननात्तथा
aṃgānāṃ vardhanādaṃbā vīrasūtve ca vīrasūḥ | śiśoḥ śuśrūṣaṇācchvaśrūrmātā syānmānanāttathā
अंगों का पोषण-वर्धन करने से वह ‘अम्बा’ कहलाती है और वीरों को जन्म देने से ‘वीरसू’। शिशु की सेवा करने से श्वश्रू भी ‘माता’ हो जाती है; और सम्मान करने से स्त्री भी माता-तुल्य मानी जाती है।
