Narratorial voice within Māheśvarakhaṇḍa (traditionally Sūta/Lomaharṣaṇa conveying the Māhātmya)
Tirtha: Hāṭakeśvara-liṅga
Type: kshetra
Listener: Jaya (addressed)
Scene: A devotee in a distant place closes his eyes and remembers the Hāṭakeśvara-liṅga; a luminous vision of the liṅga appears in the heart-lotus; Brahmā, pleased, bestows a boon gesture, indicating pratiṣṭhā-linked grace.
In tīrtha-māhātmya literature, even remembrance (smaraṇa) of a sanctified liṅga is said to yield divine favor when done with purity.
Hāṭakeśvara-liṅga, noted as established by Brahmā within the Stambhatīrtha/Somanātha sacred narrative.
Smaraṇa (devotional recollection) of the liṅga, performed by a prayata (self-controlled) devotee.
