यदि सापह्नवं चित्तं मय्यतीव तवास्ति चेत् । ततस्त्वां गुरुकार्यार्थमादेक्ष्यामि श्रृणुष्व तत्
yadi sāpahnavaṃ cittaṃ mayyatīva tavāsti cet | tatastvāṃ gurukāryārthamādekṣyāmi śrṛṇuṣva tat
यदि मेरे प्रति तुम्हारे हृदय में सच्ची श्रद्धा-भक्ति है, तो मैं तुम्हें गुरु-आज्ञा से होने वाले कार्य के लिए नियुक्त करूँगा—वह सुनो।
