ब्रह्मणस्त्वं सुता देवी तुलानाम्नेति कथ्यते । तुकारो गौरवे नित्यं लकारो लघुनि स्मृतः
brahmaṇastvaṃ sutā devī tulānāmneti kathyate | tukāro gaurave nityaṃ lakāro laghuni smṛtaḥ
‘हे देवी, तुम ब्रह्मा की पुत्री हो; तुम्हें “तुला” नाम से कहा जाता है। “तु” अक्षर सदा गुरुत्व (भार) का बोधक है और “ला” अक्षर लघुता का स्मरण कराता है।’
