स्नात्वार्णवमहीतोये तस्य स्यान्मनसेप्सितम् । कार्तिके च चतुर्द्देश्यां कृष्णायां श्रद्धयान्वितः
snātvārṇavamahītoye tasya syānmanasepsitam | kārtike ca caturddeśyāṃ kṛṣṇāyāṃ śraddhayānvitaḥ
समुद्र तथा पृथ्वी के पवित्र जल में स्नान करके उसके मनोवांछित फल सिद्ध होते हैं; विशेषतः कार्तिक मास में कृष्ण पक्ष की चतुर्दशी को श्रद्धायुक्त होकर (ऐसा करने से)।
