स तैर्बाणैस्ताड्यमानो वज्रैरिव महासुरः । विमुच्य वासवं क्रुद्धो बाणांस्तान्व्यधमच्छरैः
sa tairbāṇaistāḍyamāno vajrairiva mahāsuraḥ | vimucya vāsavaṃ kruddho bāṇāṃstānvyadhamaccharaiḥ
उन बाणों से वज्रों की भाँति आहत होकर वह महासुर क्रुद्ध हुआ; इन्द्र-शस्त्र (वासव) छोड़कर अपने शरों से उन बाणों को चूर-चूर कर दिया।

Scene: The asura, battered by Vishnu’s arrows like thunderbolts, erupts in rage, releases an Indra-like weapon, and shatters the incoming arrows with his own shafts.
Purāṇic battles dramatize the clash of dharma and adharma; rage hardens resistance, but it cannot ultimately prevail against divine order.
