मूर्ध्नि शूलं जनयसे स्वैर्दोषैर्मामदिक्षिपन् । यत्त्वं मामाह कृष्णेति महाकालोऽसि विश्रुतः
mūrdhni śūlaṃ janayase svairdoṣairmāmadikṣipan | yattvaṃ māmāha kṛṣṇeti mahākālo'si viśrutaḥ
अपने ही दोषों से मुझे दोषी ठहराकर तुम मेरे मस्तक में शूल-सा दुःख उत्पन्न करते हो। और जो तुम मुझे ‘कृष्ण’ कहते हो, इसी से तुम ‘महाकाल’ के नाम से प्रसिद्ध हो।
