taṃ śrutvā kautukāddevī kimetaditi śaṃkaram | paryapṛcchacchubhatanūrharaṃ vismayapūrvakam

उसे सुनकर कौतूहलवश देवी ने शंकर से पूछा—‘यह क्या है?’ शुभ अंगों वाली देवी ने विस्मयपूर्वक हर से प्रश्न किया।
