देवी प्राह ज्वालयिष्ये शरीरं योगवह्निना । महादेवकृतमतिरुच्छिष्टाहं यतोऽभवम्
devī prāha jvālayiṣye śarīraṃ yogavahninā | mahādevakṛtamatirucchiṣṭāhaṃ yato'bhavam
देवी बोली—“मैं योगाग्नि से इस शरीर को जला दूँगी। क्योंकि मेरी बुद्धि महादेव द्वारा गढ़ी गई थी, इसलिए उनके बाद मैं उच्छिष्ट-सी (अयोग्य) हो गई हूँ।”
