अवर्षति च पर्जन्ये सर्वभूतनिवासकृत् । वसिष्ठो जीवयामास प्रजापतिरिव प्रजाः
avarṣati ca parjanye sarvabhūtanivāsakṛt | vasiṣṭho jīvayāmāsa prajāpatiriva prajāḥ
जब मेघों ने वर्षा न की, तब समस्त प्राणियों के निवास-रक्षक वसिष्ठ ने प्रजापति की भाँति प्रजाओं का पालन कर उन्हें जीवित रखा।
