शाणेन मणिवल्लीढा कृशाप्यायादनर्घताम् । तथापि तपसा क्षामा दिदीपे तत्तनुस्तराम्

जैसे शाण पर घिसी हुई मणि-लता चमक उठती है, वैसे ही वह कृश होकर भी अनमोल हो गई; और तप से क्षीण होते हुए भी उसका तन और अधिक दीप्तिमान हुआ।
