एतदिच्छाम्यहं श्रोतुमाचक्षाथां ममाग्रतः । सतां साप्तपदी मैत्री तन्मे मैत्र्या प्रणोदितौ
etadicchāmyahaṃ śrotumācakṣāthāṃ mamāgrataḥ | satāṃ sāptapadī maitrī tanme maitryā praṇoditau
मैं यह सुनना चाहता हूँ—मेरे सामने सीधे कहिए। सज्जनों में ‘सात पग’ से मित्रता दृढ़ होती है; इसलिए मित्रभाव से प्रेरित होकर मुझे बताइए।
