श्रीमार्कण्डेय उवाच । एतदाख्यानमतुलं पुण्यं श्रुतिमुखावहम् । पुराणे यच्छ्रुतं तात तत्ते वक्ष्याम्यशेषतः
śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca | etadākhyānamatulaṃ puṇyaṃ śrutimukhāvaham | purāṇe yacchrutaṃ tāta tatte vakṣyāmyaśeṣataḥ
श्रीमार्कण्डेय बोले—यह अनुपम आख्यान परम पुण्यदायक और श्रवण-योग्य है। हे तात! पुराणों में जो कुछ मैंने सुना है, वह सब मैं तुम्हें बिना छोड़े विस्तार से कहूँगा।
