शिवदूतेन युद्धनिश्चयः तथा देवदानवयुद्धारम्भः (Śiva’s Envoy and the Commencement of the Deva–Dānava War)
शिरांसि चिच्छिदुश्चैभिर्वीरास्तत्र महो त्सवाः । वीराणामुभयोश्चैव सैन्ययोर्गर्जतो रणे
śirāṃsi cicchiduścaibhirvīrāstatra maho tsavāḥ | vīrāṇāmubhayoścaiva sainyayorgarjato raṇe
उस रण में वीर योद्धा मानो महोत्सव में उल्लसित होकर अपने शस्त्रों से सिर काटते रहे। दोनों पक्षों की वीर-सेनाएँ युद्ध के बीच गर्जना करती रहीं।
