Rudra Enters the Battlefield; the Daityas’ Arrow-Storm
mṛtyorbhayaṃ na kartavyaṃ kadācitkutracidbudhaiḥ | anirvāryo yato hyeṣa upāyairnikhilairapi

It teaches vairāgya and clarity: since death is unavoidable, the wise should not waste consciousness in fear, but turn inward toward dharma and Shiva-realization, seeking liberation rather than anxiety.
By removing fear of death, the mind becomes steady for Saguna Shiva worship—such as Linga-pūjā—where the devotee contemplates Shiva as the death-transcending Lord (Pati) and takes refuge in His grace rather than in limited worldly protections.
Adopt daily Shiva-smaraṇa with japa of the Panchākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” supported by calm meditation on impermanence; this channels the inevitability of death into disciplined devotion and inner steadiness.
