शिवतत्त्ववर्णनम् (Śiva-tattva-varṇana) — “Description/Exposition of the Principle of Śiva”
शिवरूपं ममैतञ्च रुद्रोऽपि शिववत्तदा । न तत्र परभेदो वै कर्तव्यश्च महामुने
śivarūpaṃ mamaitañca rudro'pi śivavattadā | na tatra parabhedo vai kartavyaśca mahāmune
मेरा यह रूप निश्चय ही शिव है; और उस समय रुद्र भी शिव के समान ही है। इसलिए, हे महामुने, वहाँ किसी प्रकार का ऊँच-नीच का भेद कदापि न करना चाहिए।
Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Rudra
Role: teaching
Offering: pushpa
It teaches that “Rudra” and “Śiva” are not competing deities but the same supreme Shiva-tattva; the seeker should abandon notions of higher/lower and rest the mind in one-pointed devotion to the one Lord (Pati) who grants liberation.
Whether one worships the Linga, Rudra, or Śiva by name and form, the object of worship is the same Lord; the verse supports unified Saguna-upāsanā—seeing one Shiva present in all authentic Shaiva forms and names.
Practice non-differentiating remembrance (abheda-bhāvanā) while doing Shiva-japa—especially the Panchākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—and maintain single-minded devotion rather than shifting the mind into comparisons or sectarian distinctions.
