Worship of Gajānana and the Procedure of Aupāsana-Homa
sājyena caruṇā paścādagniṃ sviṣṭakṛtaṃ hunet | punaśca prajapetsūktaṃ raudraṃ brahmāṇi pañca ca

Tattva Level: pasha
Shiva Form: Rudra
Type: rudram
It teaches that Śiva-worship is completed through both outer ritual (homa with ghee and caru) and inner discipline (japa of the Rudra-sūkta), aligning action and mantra so the offering becomes spiritually ‘well-performed’ (sviṣṭa) and fit to lead the devotee toward Śiva’s grace.
The verse supports Saguna Śiva-upāsanā: honoring Rudra/Śiva through prescribed offerings and Vedic-style recitation. Such rites commonly accompany Liṅga-pūjā, where external worship is sealed by concluding oblations and mantra-recitation dedicated to Śiva’s manifest, compassionate form.
Perform a concluding sviṣṭakṛt homa offering with ghee-mixed caru, then do japa/recitation of the Rudra-sūkta along with five Brahma-mantras—emphasizing disciplined mantra practice alongside the fire-offering.
