Sukta 7.3
वि यस्य ते पृथिव्यां पाजो अश्रेत्तृषु यदन्ना समवृक्त जम्भैः । सेनेव सृष्टा प्रसितिष्ट एति यवं न दस्म जुह्वा विवेक्षि ॥
ví yasya te pṛthivyā́m pā́jo áśret tṛṣú yád ánnā sam-avṛ́kta jámbhaiḥ | sénāiva sṛṣṭā́ pra-sítis ta étí yávam na dasma júhvā vivekṣi ||
हे (अग्नि) ! जिसका तेज पृथ्वी पर सर्वत्र फैल गया है—जब तूने अपने जबड़ों से शुष्क स्थानों में पड़े अन्नों को साफ़ कर दिया। तेरी अग्रगामी प्रेरणा छूटी हुई सेना की भाँति बढ़ती है; हे अद्भुत! तू आहुति-जीभ से यव (जौ) को अलग-अलग चुनता है—जो अग्नि में ग्रहण करने योग्य है, उसे विवेक से पहचानता है।
