Ravana’s Fury and Rama’s Harsh Admonition

Thereafter the quick-handed angry night ranger struck into the chest of Raghava thousands of arrows.
The verse contrasts anger-driven violence with the implied ideal of self-governed strength. Dharma in battle requires control; rage is shown as a destabilizing motive.
Rāvaṇa escalates his assault and lands a heavy volley on Rāma’s chest.
Rāma’s greatness of soul (mahātman) is highlighted even while he is wounded—suggesting endurance without moral deviation.
