Bharata’s Army Reaches Chitrakuta and Searches for Rama
atimātram ayaṃ deśo manojñaḥ pratibhāti me | tāpasānāṃ nivāso 'yaṃ vyaktaṃ svargapatho yathā ||2.93.18||
Being the abode of ascetics, this region looks very charming like the pathway to heaven.
Dharma honors tapas (austere spiritual discipline): the presence of ascetics sanctifies a place, showing that righteousness elevates both people and their surroundings.
During the search, Bharata observes the forest-region and recognizes it as a hermitage area, praising its sanctity and beauty.
Reverence for spiritual life—Bharata instinctively values and honors ascetics and the sacredness of their dwelling-places.
