Bharata Beholds Rama’s Forest Bed
तस्यार्थमुत्तरं कालं निवत्स्यामि सुखं वने।तं प्रतिश्रवमामुच्य नास्य मिथ्या भविष्यति।।।।
tasyārtham uttaraṃ kālaṃ nivatsyāmi sukhaṃ vane |
taṃ pratiśravam āmucya nāsya mithyā bhaviṣyati ||
उसके हित के लिए शेष काल मैं आनंदपूर्वक वन में निवास करूँगा; उस प्रतिज्ञा को अपने ऊपर लेकर, उसका वचन मिथ्या न होने दूँगा।
Taking upon myself the vow of Rama, I too shall live in the forest cheerfully for the rest of the term on behalf of him so that his vow shall not prove untrue.
Satya as lived reality: safeguarding another’s vow by personal sacrifice, so that truthfulness is preserved in action, not merely speech.
The speaker proposes to assume hardship himself, aligning with Rāma’s exile-term to protect the integrity of Rāma’s promise.
Truth-protecting responsibility—willingness to bear burden so that dharma and pledged word remain intact.
