भरतवाक्यं—रामस्य पुनरायोध्यागमननिषेधः
Bharata’s Plea and Rama’s Refusal to Return
गुरुः क्रियावान्वृद्धश्च राजा प्रेतः पितेतिच।तातं न परिगर्हेयं दैवतं चेति संसदि।।।।
guruḥ kriyāvān vṛddhaś ca rājā pretaḥ pitā iti ca |
tātaṃ na parigarhēyaṃ daivataṃ ceti saṃsadi ||
वे मेरे गुरु थे, कर्मनिष्ठ, वृद्ध और राजा भी; और अब दिवंगत—मेरे पिता। इसलिए इस सभा में मैं अपने तात को, जो मेरे लिए देवतुल्य हैं, दोष नहीं दे सकता।
King Dasaratha, my father and preceptor, is god-like to me. Devoted to meritorious acts, he departed from this world in his old age. For this reason, I cannot reproach him (publicly) in this assembly (of men).
