FAQs

Sūta is the traditional bard-narrator figure in Purāṇic literature, a learned reciter who transmits sacred histories and teachings to assemblies of sages.

It describes sages whose inner self is cultivated—disciplined through contemplation, study, and spiritual practice—indicating their readiness to receive and preserve sacred instruction.

The verse emphasizes reverence for spiritually refined company (satsaṅga) and the timely transmission of wisdom—teaching is received best in a purified, attentive setting.
