Yayāti’s Summons to Heaven and the Teaching on Old Age, the Five-Element Body, and Self–Body Discernment

हे नृपश्रेष्ठ! उसने अस्सी हजार वर्षों तक सत्य के बल से राज्य किया—जैसे आप यहाँ पृथ्वी पर, मानो स्वर्ग में, करते हैं।

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A king presides over a flourishing realm where fields are green, markets orderly, and citizens serene—an earthly reflection of Svarga. Above the palace, faint celestial imagery appears: apsarās and gandharvas in translucent clouds, suggesting that satya draws heaven down into governance. The king’s gaze is steady, and the court feels like a sanctum of truth.","primary_figures":["Dharmic king (praised as nṛpasattama)","Citizens","Ministers","Celestial silhouettes (gandharvas/apsarās as allegory)"],"setting":"Prosperous capital city with palace court, fertile countryside visible, symbolic sky of Svarga overhead","lighting_mood":"golden dawn","color_palette":["sunrise gold","sky blue","leaf green","white marble","crimson"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: king on throne with gold leaf aura, prosperous city and fields arranged in panels, citizens offering petitions peacefully; upper register shows Svarga with faint celestial beings; rich reds/greens, ornate jewelry, temple-arch framing, gold leaf highlights on crown and sky motifs.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: panoramic kingdom scene with delicate architecture, terraced fields, calm citizens; soft clouds above with subtle celestial figures; cool blues and greens, refined facial features, lyrical landscape, gentle morning light.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: iconic king centered, stylized city and fields as patterned bands, celestial realm suggested in upper band; bold outlines, red-yellow-green palette, temple mural symmetry and decorative borders.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: kingdom as a devotional mandala—palace at center, concentric rings of fields and citizens; lotus borders, peacocks, deep blue sky with gold stars and faint Svarga figures; intricate floral patterns and auspicious motifs."}

Sandhi Resolution Notes: अशीतिर्नृपसत्तमः = अशीतिḥ + नृपसत्तमः (विसर्ग-लोपः/रेफ-सन्धिः). भवानिह = भवान् + इह (न् + इ → निह).

FAQs

Truthfulness (satya) is presented as the sustaining principle of righteous rule (rājya), enabling governance that is “heaven-like.”

It suggests that just and truthful rule creates social order and well-being comparable to the harmony traditionally associated with heaven (divi).

It functions as a respectful address and moral framing, linking the listener’s conduct to an exemplar of long, truth-based kingship.
