Concept: Scriptural knowledge should flower as worship (pūjā), service, sacrifice, generosity, and pleasing speech—virtue expressed outwardly.

Application: Pair learning with tangible service: support teachers/elders, give regularly, speak kindly; let ritual or routine duties be done as offering rather than display.

Primary Rasa: shanta

Secondary Rasa: vira

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A dignified yajña hall where a learned officiant guides a sacrifice while householders bring offerings; nearby, the same figure gives alms with open palm and speaks gently to guests. Sandhi Resolution Notes: देवब्राह्मणपूजकः = देव + ब्राह्मण + पूजकः; सर्वयज्ञानां = सर्व + यज्ञानाम्; प्रियंवदः = प्रियं + वदः (समास).

FAQs

The verse praises scriptural knowledge, reverence toward gods and Brahmins, competence in sacrificial rites, generosity (dāna), selflessness (tyāga), and gentle speech.

It presents dharma as both divine-oriented (deva-pūjā) and society-sustaining (respect for learned custodians of ritual and teaching), portraying both as complementary duties.

It teaches that righteousness is not only ritual competence but also character: giving freely, acting without selfish attachment, and speaking in a kind, constructive manner.
