गजग्रीष्टकृतिर्व्यैका दलिता चेष्टभाजिता । एकोऽस्य वर्गो दलितः सैको राशिः परो मतः ॥ ३२ ॥

Transliteration

gajagrīṣṭakṛtirvyaikā dalitā ceṣṭabhājitā | eko'sya vargo dalitaḥ saiko rāśiḥ paro mataḥ || 32 ||

Translation

एक मात्र इकाई को आधार मानकर, उसे घटाकर और क्रिया-नियम से भाग देकर, उस घटित मान का वर्ग प्राप्त किया जाता है। वही एक इकाई फिर सिद्ध राशि मानी जाती है—ऐसा मुनियों का मत है।
