Adhyaya 85 — The Gods’ Hymn to the Goddess and the Emergence of Kaushiki; Shumbha Sends His Envoy
dyotsnāyai cendurūpiṇyai sukhāyai satataṃ namaḥ / kalyāṇyai praṇatāṃ vṛddhyai siddhyai kurmo namo namaḥ
True prosperity (vṛddhi) and accomplishment (siddhi) are linked to humility (praṇati). The hymn ties well-being to alignment with the divine order rather than mere power.
Devotional stotra embedded in narrative; a didactic section promoting upāsanā and its fruits.
Moon and moonlight symbolize cooling clarity and reflective awareness; invoking Devi as dyotsnā/indu suggests the mind’s illumination by Śakti, yielding sukha and siddhi.
