Adhyaya 61 — The Second Manvantara Begins: The Brahmin’s Swift Journey and Varuthini’s Temptation on Himavat
ब्राह्मण उवाच अष्टावात्मगुणा ये हि तेषामादौ दया द्विज ।
तां करोṣi कथं न त्वं मयि सद्धर्मपालक ॥
brāhmaṇa uvāca aṣṭāv ātma-guṇā ye hi teṣām ādau dayā dvija | tāṃ karoṣi kathaṃ na tvaṃ mayi saddharma-pālaka ||
ब्राह्मण ने कहा—हे द्विज, आत्मा के आठ गुणों में दया सर्वोपरि है। जो तुम सत्यधर्म को धारण करने वाली कहती हो, वह दया तुम मुझ पर क्यों नहीं दिखाती?
