prajvālya pāvakaṃ hutvā mantravit kṛtamaṅgalām | vaivāhikavidhiṃ kanyāṃ pratipādya yathāgatam ||

Marriage is framed as a saṃskāra: a dharmic, fire-witnessed transformation performed by mantra and vidhi, not merely a private agreement.
Ritual-dharma within narrative; outside the five lakṣaṇas, but typical purāṇic embedding of social dharma.
Agni represents consciousness and witness; the vivāha-fire signifies the union being ‘sealed’ in a higher witnessing principle beyond personal emotion.
