Adhyaya 21 — Kuvalayashva’s Descent to Patala and the Rescue of Madalasa
आगामिन्यां त्रयोदश्याम् उद्वक्ष्यति किलासुरः ।
स तु नार्हति चार्वङ्गीं शूद्रो वेदश्रुतीमिव ॥
āgāminyāṃ trayodaśyām udvakṣyati kilāsuraḥ / sa tu nārhati cārvaṅgīṃ śūdro vedaśrutīm iva
आगामी त्रयोदशी तिथि को वह असुर उसे विवाह करने का निश्चय करता है, ऐसा कहा जाता है। पर वह सुन्दर अंगों वाली कन्या का अधिकारी नहीं—जैसे शूद्र वेद-पाठ का अधिकारी नहीं होता।
