ततस्तीक्ष्णाग्रदशनो मणिवैदूर्यलोचन: । मूषिकं मन्दमुद्वीक्ष्य मार्जारो लोमशोडब्रवीत्
tatas tīkṣṇāgradāśano maṇivaidūryalocanaḥ | mūṣikaṃ mandam udvīkṣya mārjāro lomaśo 'bravīt ||
तदनन्तर तीखे अग्रदन्तों वाला और वैदूर्य-मणि के समान चमकती आँखों वाला लोमश नामक बिलाव चूहे की ओर मंद दृष्टि डालकर इस प्रकार बोला।
