धृतराष्ट्र-सत्कारः तथा श्राद्ध-दाने नियमनम् | Honoring Dhṛtarāṣṭra and Regulating Śrāddha-Gifts
एवं धर्मभृतां श्रेष्ठो धर्मराजो युधिष्ठिर:
evaṃ dharmabhṛtāṃ śreṣṭho dharmarājo yudhiṣṭhiraḥ | viparītakṛc ca me śatrur niyamyakṛd bhaven naraḥ ||
वैशम्पायन बोले— इस प्रकार धर्म का पालन करनेवालों में श्रेष्ठ धर्मराज युधिष्ठिर ने अपनी नीति प्रकट की— “जो मनुष्य संयम और आज्ञापालन में स्थित रहता है, वही मेरा सुहृद् है; और जो विपरीत आचरण करता है, वह मेरा शत्रु है तथा मेरे दण्ड-नियमन के अधीन होगा।” करुणा और धैर्य से प्रेरित होकर वे अपने भाइयों और मन्त्रियों को समझाते कि धृतराष्ट्र वृद्ध और पूज्य हैं; उनकी आज्ञा का पालन ही धर्मनिष्ठा का चिह्न है।
