Sukta 19

येन मृतं स्नपयन्ति श्मश्रूणि येनोन्दते । तं वै ब्रह्मज्य ते देवा अपां भागमधारयन्

yéna mṛtáṃ snapáyanti śmaśrū́ṇi yénóndate | táṃ vái brahmajyé te devā́ apā́ṃ bhā́gam adhārayann ||

That wherewith they wash the dead, wherewith they moisten the beard—him, verily, as Brahman-slayer, the Gods have held back from the Waters’ portion.

जिससे वे मृत देह को स्नान कराते हैं, जिससे दाढ़ी को भिगोते हैं—उसको देवताओं ने निश्चय ही ‘ब्रह्महन्ता’ मानकर जलों के भाग से वंचित कर दिया।
