Sukta 36
तमीमहे इन्द्रमस्य रायः पुरुवीरस्य नृवतः पुरुक्षोः । यो अस्कृधोयुरजरः स्वऽर्वान् तमा भर हरिवो मादयध्यै
tám īmahe índram asyá rāyáḥ puruvī́rasya nṛvátas purukṣóḥ | yó áskṛdhoyur ajáraḥ svàrvān tám ā́ bhara harivo mādayádhyai |
Him we beseech—Indra—for his wealth, rich in heroes, rich in men, of many homes: who is not stinting in bestowal, unaging, heaven-bright. Bring him hither, O thou of bay steeds, that he may be exhilarated.
हम उस इन्द्र की याचना करते हैं—उसके धन की, जो वीरों से समृद्ध, पुरुषों से समृद्ध, अनेक गृहों का स्वामी है; जो दान में कंजूसी नहीं करता, जो अजर है, स्वर्ग-दीप्त है। हे हरिवो (हरि-घोड़ों वाले), उसे यहाँ ले आओ, ताकि वह हर्षित/उन्मत्त होकर हमें बल दे।
